Sarah Ramos
Hiyeee! I’m Sarah Ramos.
Most people know me for playing Haddie Braverman on Parenthood, or for other acting roles. If that’s all you know, you’re in for a rude awakening: I am also a filmmaker!
As an actress, I've often felt like I needed to be what other people wanted to succeed. You know - an Effortless, Well-Adjusted Cool Girl? I’m more neurotic and intense. It’s fun!
Like, when I was 9, my family paid to go on a Mary-Kate & Ashley cruise. Next, I pretty much became an autograph hound, obsessively collecting photos with my favorite celebrities. I wrote a rom-com for Reese Witherspoon to star in, which no one read for over 10 years. Then I tried really hard to pretend none of this happened so I could be Cool & Successful™. It didn’t really work.
Writing and directing films about how I actually see the world has been transformative and freeing. I’ve learned that I don’t have to pretend to be someone else to succeed. Instead, I can embrace the ambition and obsession I spent my formative years trying to hide.
Because I want to share my work with you, I’m putting my short films, webseries, and funky experimental art all in one place, on this website.
For YOU! For me. For us.
XOXO, Sarah
